Lionel Friend's commercial recordings, in contrast to his work in the concert hall and opera house, have concentrated on repertoire from the 20th century. His discography includes, for example, an award-winning Rawsthorne disc, a wonderful Soldier's Tale, as well as an outstanding DVD of The Rape of Lucretia.
